    Side Arms

100%. My buddies give me all kinds of grief for carrying a sidearm but I’ve had a couple of run ins. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

    Side Arms

Do you happen to have a reference? I always open carry with a chest rig when hunting with a gun but going into my first archery season, I would like to carry my sidearm. I have a CCW permit and I wasn’t able to find anything online to confirm if it’s legal.

    Side Arms

Crazy! Last year on opening day I had a similar experience. I glassed up another hunter at several hundred yards thinking he was looking at me through his binos only to realize he was looking at me through his rifle scope. Luckily he didn’t shoot

Where can I hunt with airgun

Just be aware that there are some CDFW lands with property specific regulations that don’t allow the use of air rifles. For the most part, you can use air rifles anywhere hunting is allowed as long as air rifles are a legal method of take for your target species.

    Shotgun Questions

You’re absolutely Agreed. Shotguns are a fickle beast. Im a lifelong rifle shooter but my shotgun fundamentals a largely self taught through books, forums, YouTube etc. I shoot a lot but for all know, I could be just reaffirming years of bad habits. Hopefully a good gun fit along with...

    Shotgun Questions

That’s a great point. Do you have any recommendations for someone relatively local?

    Shotgun Questions

Agreed. My uncles wingmaster is from the late 70’s and that thing shoots like a dream.

    Shotgun Questions

You’re not wrong! A bunch of buddies of mine have em and it seems like all the 870’s made in the last 15-20 years have cycling issues. Weird for pump actions.

Veteran looking for scoped rifle help. Teacher ?

I second that! Ryan cleckner has a vast bank of knowledge with practical long range shooting. I have his long range shooting handbook that I still reference every time I’m knocked down a peg by a rough day of shooting.

    Shotgun Questions

Does anyone have any good recommendations on affordable semi auto shotguns that are versatile for upland, ducks, and turkeys as well as a local gun fitter? For several years I had a 12 gauge 870 wing master in the family that my uncle let me hang on to that I could powder clays and kill birds...

    Looking For Puppy Obedience Trainer

My wife and I picked our first cocker spaniel puppy a few weeks ago and have been working diligently with obedience training. He’s 11 weeks old and learning quick but it’s been quite a struggle since we’re both learning through forums and YouTube and we’re never totally sure if what we’re doing...

    IV Dove Question

I’ve been hunting dove in SD for the past few years and I’m wanting to branch out to the valley this year. I scouted out there yesterday and I saw a bunch of the signs that say “this field is open to public hunting” but I’m curious about trespassing laws on private fields. I always hear that if...

    Barrett Reservoir Question

Hey guys have any of you had any experience trying to hunt Barrett as a walk-on? I want to get at least one more hunt in this season but I’d hate to show up on a Saturday morning and get turned away

    D16 - Veterans Day Buck

Thanks man, I appreciate that. I do a decent bit of long range shooting and I would’ve been super mad at myself if I caved to the excitement and let all my fundamentals go out the window for a fairly close shot.

    D16 - Veterans Day Buck

As a longtime rabbit hunter, a buddy and I decided last year to dive into big game hunting. We spent a massive amount of time scouting including many weekends, several gas tanks, countless hours of glassing, 100’s of miles boots on the ground, and a few legal bucks seen here and there. When...

    CA D16 / A22 Seasons - Scouting - OnX Maps ?

I know a great glassing spot that matches that description to a tee. Wouldn’t happen to be in a town whose name starts with the letter D? Haha
