Looks good. Been seeing videos on YouTube and maybe at some point I'd take a chance on trying it out.

Nope no secret. So originally I wanted to hydro dip my rifles so I could have a custom look. After i talked to a few guys & saw what it would cost me to get it done, I just kept putting it off.
During last deer season in D-14 I was hunting in some foggy wet weather. I had tape on my barrel to keep the moisture out, I wiped my rifle down when I got back to the truck at the end of the day. When I got home and unloaded my truck, I noticed my rifle had a crazy amount of surface rust. So either Ruger did a bad job of bluing my rifle, or I'm a little aggressive when cleaning it. Either way I needed to get it re-blued or hydro dipped. I've blued a few other firearms with Birchwood Casey, and it was a pain in my ass trying to get the color I wanted. So I looked into getting my rifle Cerakote, but once again that was expensive. Then I came across an ad for DuraBlue. When I did a little research I decided to just do a custom paint job with the Duracoat from Lauer weaponry.

So here's the job from start to finish

Here is a Remington 700 that I used the DuraBlue blue/black glossy on.

I've parkarized, alumahyded, and Krylon/Rustoleum. Cerakote be Duracolir are next on my list

Thanks for the write up.

I've always just used rustolium as well and just hand camoed but my wife wanted a custom blue on her 3 gun set up so I've started hydro dipping. It's cool and not expensive but not easy to get right
