Any of you guys on the site a CFI or a private pilot

Good Wednesday morning, I am not a CFI, but I am an IFR, Multi Engine Commercial and IFR private pilot with tailwheel endorsement. Personally I prefer the Piper Super Cruiser, restored a 1947 and got a stc to replace the original 95hp with a Lycoming 150hp, moved the battery to the back so I can...

    More PANIC

Let's add the H1N1 of the Obama era. 18,000 deaths and millions infected. Nothing said about Obama waiting 6 months to declare a national emergency and there were no travel bans. Double standard?

Two people, one a Sherrif's Deputy, attacked by Mountain Lion...

Speaking of "TDS" Right after declaration of national emergency President Trump should announce that out of an abundance of caution to limit the spread of cv19 he is postponing the federal election for 1 year. Watch the Demoncraps lose their mind.

    Anyone Into Black Powder?

With the 300gr conical .40 cal, and 90 gr powder would give approx 1300 f.p.e. at 250 yrds. Accurate out quite a bit further, but energy goes way down.

If the gun is rated for it a 300 gr conical bullet and 80 to 90 gr of BP should give 200 plus yards

I need to get a good map, but just for in general is that area just north of Santa Paula? I am still learning the SoCal area, same with San Jacinto mtns and points further south. I have been told that around Thomas mtn and little Thomas mtn are good hunts same with east of lake Hemet in Garner...

Displaced mountain girl in so cal!

There are a lot of Victorian era buildings and homes that I believe should be saved from big business. Wineries and tasting rooms are growing fast up there. People also commute from there to Stockton, Sacramento, and East Bay. It's getting crowded. A lot of history is being lost to...

Displaced mountain girl in so cal!

Yes it is, WOW, locals know it, but it isn't really a tourist destination, lol. A favorite place to escape the heat, and pretty cool history.

    Anyone Into Black Powder?

I have hit targets at 150 yards with the flinter and cap lock, but only took 1 buck at about 65 yards with the flinter, Great Plains cap lock I have had good fortune out to about 120 yards, the Great Plains rifle is my goto ML, the flinter has enough difference to be more of a challenge.

Yes you are right west of Redding along the Trinity River, Weaverville and Whiskey Town, Whiskey Lake are beautiful areas as well. Highway 299 takes you through there all the way to Eureka. I think the Smith River is up near Eureka too. I think if you are real Lucky in a DFG draw you can hunt...

    Anyone Into Black Powder?

I haven't researched it, but I would assume that flint locks are viewed as less reliable than more modern muzzle loaders. They are a bit more of a challenge at times. For instance I have seen on a very windy day the powder can get blown out of the flash pan before ignition, or heavy rain can...

Displaced mountain girl in so cal!

It is pretty cool to find someone from my neck of the woods. If you ever want to chat about some of the sights I would be glad to. New Melones Reservoir, or Lake Tulloch, Merced River falls, there is even an old covered bridge a little west of Sonora that's pretty cool, off the beaten path a...
