Great Morning at the Wis Today

Nice hunt Steve. Where is there a boat dock at The Wis? And great BW Teal, a mounter for sure!

Steve, how in the world did you go "12 for 7?" Did five of your shots drop two birds?

What's in your blind bag or bucket?

I wish a small, plastic grocery bag would work! Hard to fit in a roll of carpeting, a tule seat and six empty boxes of shells! And yes, I have found ALL of that at a blind spot at Wister! Heck, I even found two car 'floor mats' in a blind, I guess they really hated the mud!!!

What's in your blind bag or bucket?

We also bring out a couple of Yard Trash Bags to not only haul our trash out, but do a little bit of Blind Area Clean Up as well!

    Wister Signage......Learn 'Em

Wister signs have always confused me. I think the main thing is that sometimes, I think an ARROW on the sign would be very helpful. You see a sign that says "Road Closed" and right behind it are TWO roads, therefore not sure if the right one, the left one or both are closed! You see your...

San Jacinto Blind Brush-Up Days (Official Flyer)

Sorry, was going to come and ended up with a tooth ache, which ended up with a tooth extraction and a new HOLE DRILLED into my jawbone for an implant. The Vicodin is making me dizzy! Better not to drive!

    Waterfowling/Calling Class 2015

Sorry I missed it Steve, but something else came up. Luckily, I have been hunting the Wis since the 1960's so I usually do OK there. I just miss the camaraderie of fellow hunters. Thank you for much for putting on the "clinic". To add to your list, watch out for those buzz worms! They show...

    Winster Duck Hunting

Imagine Wister if San Jacinto closes!!! The sweat line will have 300 or more people in it.

    Winster Duck Hunting

I mean on the PURCHASING of land side, not the field work. The DFW makes money when hunters hunt an area. If Kalifornia is truly a "Eco Friendly State", then they need to spend millions on acquiring NEW LAND to create more Wildlife Refuges! And don't get me started on WHERE the funds should...

    Winster Duck Hunting

There is a lot of other land that could be used if they would just do some work.

    Winster Duck Hunting

Everything I said about Wister above is TRUE, but, I still love hunting there. Then again, south of Kern, we only have two choices, when is the DFW going to buy some more land and make a couple more refuges?
