Yeehaw! Looks like this cool weather did the ticket. Time to go pick up my cams. I left them in too public of a spot (set them up at night) and have been worried about them the last few weeks. Hopefully they are all still there.
Good hunting everyone!
I didn't watch the debates because I can't even look at Harris, she's like a wicked step mother...not to mention her body language clearly shows she is racist against whites and hates men. What I don't get is she accused Biden of being a racist in front of all of America during the primary...
Welcome to the site. I am in your boat, just starting out in D15 as well. Hopefully they open D15 at some point during this upcoming season...With all the CA fire activity and governmental overreach (closing CNF without a single fire up there) I'm not holding my breath.
From the firefighters I have spoken to the Holy Fire area will be closed for another season. I just hope that the Forest Service doesn't extend the recent closure order for another week because although cooling off for a few days the temps are going to kick back up next week.
Tim,
Have you been back in the burn area? The gate off the south end of North Main Divide has been closed the whole month. What's it look like, how is the vegetation (food) looking?
Today I went scouting in D15 in what looked to be a promising canyon with some north draining offshoots on Google Earth.
In this otherwise picturesque canyon (as shown in the first two pics) I didn't any bucks...what I did find you can see in the last three photos...
This is just a sample of...
Great point Trapline. Especially if you leave it for a while. I forget where I put my wallet five minutes after I do so. Also not a lot of location markers in that spot!
Also while we are on the topic--do the "low glow infrared" scare off deer that inhabit the area, or in other words, do the "invisible infared" cams have a clear advantage over the "low glow infrared?" I found a couple of browning cams on sale that I am thinking about adding to my small...
I can't mount my cameras on branches due to all the brush, what do you guys recommend for posts/stakes? I need something lightweight and sturdy, I can't pack T-Stakes with me! Also how high do you normally set up your cameras that you put on stakes? Do you find it necessary to have an adjustable...
I watched a video of the Holy Fire, which in the center of Trabuco Canyon where the residents lived, burned hot enough to melt all the aluminum off of a Jeep Cherokee...it resembled a scene out of Terminator 2.
I stay away from Trabuco Canyon anyways because it's full of idiots that try and drive down the road like it's the Baja 1000...and also now full of trash and graffiti. I just can't stand driving down the road anymore. I used to ride the triangle there all the time, in fact Trabuco Trail was my...
Hey guys, does anyone know if it's legal to access D15 for hunting from the Tucker Wildlife Santuary off Modjeska road? About 10 feet away it's USFS, but thought I'd check because it's usually packed with sierra club members at 0900. I have ridden this trail about a zillion times on my mountain...
