I didn't draw I did apply for it but I was curious if anyone on here did, I was going to try and help since I will most likely be up there opening weekend, and I don't live very far so I will most likely be up there a couple weeks before as well. I have seen that article before that's a awesome buck that made hat unit very popular for a while and I now think it has died off but I also think that's because it has got around that the unit isnst as good as it use to be because the lack of weather during the season . I disagree though I think there are still big buck, as big as people like to think in G3 but haveto work a little harder for them.
I had max points when I drew this tag. Tired of waiting for G3. I will be going up on Thursday 11/30 and staying thru Monday, probably go back on Tuesday or wed. Live in Bakersfield; but have never hunted this area or unit before, hoping for colder weather or some snow high.
I got lucky/blessed this year and drew G3 with only 3 points, headed up next week to start scouting and for the opener. i’ll be sure to get pics and give you my perspective on the herd and the hunt! Best of luck on your G6 hunt.
Im going to try and get it done with the bow for the first few days then switch to the T3 7mm if needed or i see a 200+ that requires it. Lol

I have to work the opener of g3 and g6 but will be up the following weekend on the 9th I'm not sure what unit I will be going to of I find someone that can use a hand in g6 I will go up there if not I will go up to g3 in hopes of someone holding out for a good one and maybe helping them !

I tagged out on opening morning about 9am, scouted for a day and a half and saw 2 does! Very warm, not ideal hunting conditions. Went up too 9000' and shot buck at about 7500', saw a total of 10 deer and 1 buck.
I’m curious if you got it done last weekend in g3 or if you are hunting this weekend ? Or have been hunting this last week .
I killed this buck at 9am opening morning, Had plans to hunt most of the season if needed. Didn't see a buck until I saw this one, was worried about the warm weather and decided to take him. He was with 4 does at 7500' and was probably rutting. Have you hunted much yet?
Had a great hunt and was able to take a great 5x4 opening morning. Been meaning to get the pictures and story written up I’ll have time tomorrow for sure. Happy Friday
