So sad, this sucks!

I saw that story this morning... I was thinking it only made the headlines because the guy was using one of them assault devil weapons. But the so called hunter broke one of the main rules, never shoot into brush, never shoot at something until you see your target.

I wonder why the yote caller was so close to the pastor/hunter insterad of the typical 20-30 yards away.

It was the home owner who shot into the bush, not the hunter I thought.

Who shoots into a bush at an animal what a moron. This could happen to any of us that call dogs or turkeys or anything for that matter. The shooter deserves jail time for this. Completely uncalled for and preventable.

This is exactly why we harp so much about safety while hunting, especially turkeys....No visible red, white, or blue.....The person also broke one of the cardinal rules.....Be sure of your target. Regardless of what you're shooting....He will have to live with this mistake, the rest of his life.

ps....I bet this made headlines because of the AR.

Tragic story and I bet it would not be on the news with out the AR too.

Agreed, plus the angle that a pastor was trying to kill an animal for sport. There was no legitimate reason to keep mentioning that it was a pastor, other than to call attention to the “hypocritical Christian pastor”. Just my opinion.

My first reaction was grief for the family, then anger at the guy who shot when all he could discern was some color and movement. Horrible, deadly mistake.

It was no mistake... The pastor was shot several times in the chest. Extremely accurate for a guy shooting into the woods at what sounded like coyotes........

Interesting. I wonder if the investigation will find foul play.

That makes me angry and a little scared to go back out with my caller. First off who the heck shoots into a bush? "thinking it was a coyote" what a dang fool. feel very bad for his family so sad.
