I took a drive from Ramona up to Julian in search of hunting areas. The only place I found was some BLM land which looked like a tourist attraction lol. Headed up towards Cuyamaca and just seen a few parks along the way and was hoping to find some trails but the stupid On x Hunt app wouldn't load..
I guess next week Ill give Laguna a shot. Back in Missouri I would just find a tree and place a stand for a decent buck or Turkey LOL!

I have downloaded a couple maps but have not tried it yet since the last time I was out there with a spotty cell signal. Will see how it goes

You need to preload you maps into ONX. I save the medium quality 10mile square ones. I was in NM for a week with no service, had no problem with ONX and my phone in airplane mode.
can you explain how to do this, I had a problem with ONX, while I was out scouting for some turkeys out in Ramona. Thanks.

It’s easy. Go to the area of interest in OnX, make sure your layers are loaded the way you want and the display (sat, topo or hybrid) is set, select off grid from the bottom left, select “save new map” then select your area and resolution, name it and save it. As Truduct said, you have three options. The memory used is the same whether you are saving 5, 10, or 150 square miles; the resolution is reduced as you increase the area, sonthe size of the file is roughly unaffected.
Don’t forget: OnX saves only what you have displayed. If you forgot to load the private lands layer before you saved it, or didn’t add topo lines, you won’t be able to use them offline.
I hope that helps.

ummmm free HVAC service could get me into a lot of places...... just saying.

if only someone would have been around to help me install a new system in my house. i would have taken that person for some epic airboat duck hunting trips.

just saying :)

I'm all about the barter system ;)
If you ever have any issues, just get ahold of me and we will take care of you.

Did I hear someone say “whitetail trip to Missouri”? Count me in!
Here’s what you do. Schedule 1 week in Missouri after the D16 season. Spend the entire D16 season out in the field enjoying the beauty of CA and wonderful weather. Get a 2x2 buck here and celebrate after 100s of hours in the field and 50+ miles hiked. Then go to Missouri and tell them how easy they have it as you and all your friends pass on Bucks the first day. Then take bigger bucks on the second day. Afterward have 5 awesome days with family/ friends during the holidays in MO.

How exact on x maps was ???
I use the app for 2 years, in some places I see the app and say is public and when I start scouting I can see hunting signs like private property into the green public map. The app is good but have some issues with delimitation.
