Figure some would love to see the BS used to justify using millions of tax payer dollars. The info in the article is just down right hilarious.

Called themselves the "Inter-governmental Feral Pig Group".... sounds like a good description of all parties involved. ;D

Don't some guys still hunt pigs in SD?

You can hunt pigs anywhere you like.....Doesn't mean there is any..... ;)

ps......Such bull $hit......We as fish & wildlife commissioners here in SD recommended NOT to pay these "professionals" to exterminate pigs......Some of the suggestions were, no pig tag costs, bounty on pigs, and access to some county lands just to name a few......Is it any wonder why this state, our fish & game dept, and other agencies are upside down.......Unbelievable!

1 up where I am boar only. HAuser supposedly only has sows in it (no boars). North end of the river drainage there's a few left too. Then I know of one more spot with a few the state guys don't even have it on there radar

Think I'll get mine this week fingers crossed. Trying to get him dead and keep the hiking under 100 miles lol

Doug's wilderness adventures says there are wild pigs that try to break into his domestic pig pen (either to mate or to eat the food). When I was at the property in Descanso there was fresh rooting in an area 100 yards from the pig pen.

Didn't he get shut down

I spent many years scouting for pigs in SD. I finally found a wallow. I set up a cam and caught 2 pigs moving at dusk. I was so stoked! I visited infrequently to keep pressure off, but I would spend the occasional morning or evening at that spot (1.5 hour drive from home). One day, I was exploring an old pig path nearby the wallow and spotted a small sign saying there was a federal trap in the area. I was so PISSED OFF all my hard work was for nothing, and especially when I learned taxpayers spent millions for it!

Every time I step past a cowpie or see the devastation a single cow will do to a deer path, I wonder why the fuss for wild pigs when cows cause 10x the damage! Dumb.

Totally agree.....We are told not move around while turkey hunting on Santa Ysabel East Preserve with the kids (NWTF youth hunt) because we may step on some sensitive plant......Yet, there's 200 head of cattle on the property!......They cut paths, breakdown stream banks, and eat the native grasses to the ground.
