Finally after an 18 day period got my Remington 700 in last night. It has 2 little notches on it where a sling should go.

How do I attach a sling? I see there are options for swivels and all sorts o my stuff. Also recommend me a good comfortable sling for hunting

Notches or tapped holes? The rifle should have been packaged with stud swivels for mounting a sling. The studs screw into the (tapped) holes and the sling attached to the studs so it can be removed. Take a pic and post it.
As for slings, start with one that's easy to adjust (length), cheap and non-stretch. You don't need to spend much: $15-25 is plenty. Later on you'll develop your own ideas and way want to swap it out. These days I buy my slings from Mr Murray because I love the feel and quick adjustment of his slings; he does beautiful work. But there are lots of good slings out there. Check the reviews online to see what people like or dislike about a sling before you buy it.

Like Don said, there should be a post at each end of your rifle.....Your new sling should have the matching quick release, spring loaded, or screw stud that goes into posts that are on your gun.....

Wal-Mart sells Limbsaver slings (black & camo). The cost is under $30.00....They're rigid rubber, wide, light weight, and pretty much bullet proof.....My personal favorite.....2 cents

ps.....I love their recoil pads too.

I have a $60 leather sling and I have cheaper neoprene rubber slings from Walmart. I like the cheap slings more. All my guns have slings they are a must. I suggest getting quick release swivels so you can trade the sling between guns easier.

it has notches. 2 little studs that stick out with holes to thread something through. is this all I need to thread the sling through?

I'll check that walmart sling out! I've heard of murray's custom leather too, I'll look into both.

That's online. limb saver with Titan swivels. I'm looking at those swivels, how do they attach to the notches?

EDIT: Nevermind I Figured it out. the little bolt/screw goes through the notch
