Spotting Scope recommendations

I'm looking to purchase a good spotting scope both for hunting as well as dialing in rifles at long distances. I've been doing a lot of research on the internet, but it's hard to know who you can really trust. I definitely prefer quality over quantity, not afraid to spend a little money but just don't want to over or under spend on this one. Any recommendations?

these guys will need more info...what do you consider long distance? more important, how much are you willing to spend?
hard to tell you because you want to combine both hunting and range scopes. Option would be to go to a popular range and ask to look thru others scopes but that won't tell you how cumbersome it is to lug around.

Good point! I'd like to be able to sight out to at least 600-800 yards, I'm willing to spend whatever is needed to achieve that. Of course I'd like to get the most bang for my buck, just not sure what that is yet...

when you say "sight out to 6-800 yards" you mean you want to determine your bullet hits? To know your elevation adjustments/come ups/hold over?
What kind of turrets/reticle does your rifle scope have? either MOA or Mils?

I have a vortex razor 11-33x50 and I have been extremely happy with it. Super clear, great warranty and mid-range price. I have also used the viper and although not as clear I feel like it is the best options in that price range.

I personally own a night force ts 80 and really like it. I have also used Some VERY high end optics. To be honest Vortex makes a very clear glass and they are priced very affordable. If I had to do it again I would choice between Vortex or Swoarwski (pardon the spelling)

Vortex or Alpen are both good scopes for the money and they both makes ones that will meet your needs without breaking the bank...

Oh I don't see someone shooting down a road there now do I ;)

That's on MCC prop.......With nary a soul around......:p

I have a 16x48x65 Vortex Razor and am very happy with it. The only spotter I would want over this one would be the Swarovski 20x60x65. It has slightly better glass, is 10 ounces lighter but twice the price.

The Leica APO-TELEVID 65's are pretty amazing as well. Drawback is they are 52 oz's.
