So I have always told myself I would buy my kids their lifetime hunting and fishing licenses before they turn 10. Well my oldest turns 10 next week and I had to put my money where my mouth is. I sat him down and explained to him he would not be getting presents from us this year only his lifetime licenses since the cost is $1,034 total for both. I let him know he might not appreciate it now but when he is an adult he will look back at this birthday present the rest of his life and be thankful for it. He completely understood. The checks in the mail my son will never have to buy a license the rest of his life and if he moves out of state he will still be considered a resident when it comes to hunting in CA.
I can only imagine how much a license will cost in 20 years. He will be stoked when all his buddies are having to buy them and his just shows up in the mail January and July 1st.
