Hunting Idaho this year

It is finally official. I am going to try my Luck in Idaho this year. I got Elk and Deer tags I will most likely grab a black bear tag as well. I am doing a DIY hunt just setting up shop and putting in work. I am taking my 11 year old and getting him Elk and Deer tags too. I cant wait to get up there and start hunting.

How did you already get tags I thought the draw isn't until June? Can you buy the OTC tags already? Idaho is an option for me as well depending on how we do in the AZ/NM draws.
 
I believe the tags went on sale Dec 1st of 2016. I called the Fish and game last week to make sure I was buying the right tags. I got Elk B tags. I thought about getting AZ tags but the wife wanted to come to Idaho with me So Ill be dropping her and the kids off In boise so they can have fun wile I hunt.
 
Yeah, I hunted I'D elk/deer archery for 2 weeks last Sep. Elk bulls every other day...no shots taken though. Passed on a deer at 10 yds broadside, hoping for an elk.

All DYI solo at 9000 feet with OTC tags!! What a state! Good luck to you and yours!
