Also using the Slik Sprint Pro II with the CBH100 ball head and the Swarovski universal tripod adaptor. At 2.2 pounds it works great with binos.
If I'm going to be using my spotter I use the Slik 724CFL with the Outdoorsman's Micro pan head. I use their adaptor plates and switch back and forth from binos to spotter. Its about 1.3 pounds heaver than the other set up but much more stable for the spotter.

No, but I've never really fancied glassing while standing, even when I had a tripod that I could. So it works for me.

I currently use a Vanguard tripod and pistol grip head combo weighing in at 5.8lbs. My spotter is 3.8lbs Vortex 16-48x. I also pack a hog saddle for clamping my rifle to the tripod. Over 10lbs just for vision.

Looking to cut weight and can definitely use a more compact tripod just for scouting purposes.

Sounds like you made a good choice with the slick/manfrotto setup. I like a slik 624 pro cf with a vanguard ph111.
Nikon ed 50 if u want lightweight but you sacrifice a lot going with an ultralight spotting scope. Might want to tolerate the weight and get an mid weight optic with quality glass (Swarovski ats, Leica televid, or vortex razor). Don't know if you listen to podcasts but the "huntbackcountry" podcast did a great episode on spotting scope comparisons and those guys are ultralight enthusiasts.

Aside from the quality of the glass, think also about whether you want a straight or angled scope. There are advantages to each. If you have any flexibility issues, especially in your neck or knees, you might prefer angled. My point is to think not only about looking through it, but also how you'll use the scope in the field... hour after hour after hour. Lighter and less expensive tripods will be a lot more stable down low than extended, and if the scope is down low you want to be able to look through it comfortably. 2cents.
