I talked to Tom today and the Riverside Department of Transportation came in and sort of attempted to repair Davis Rd. Tom says it was a meager effort and he's afraid they're going to basically blow it off and it will just happen again all over next season, which will likely force the shutdown of San Jacinto for duck hunting. You Wister regulars might want to take note here too as guess where the SJ regulars will likely go if they can't get into SJ? Anyway, Tom said it would be a good idea if people could call the Riverside DOT (951-955-6899) and urge them to fix Davis Rd. and fix it properly. Might even be a good idea to get your state representatives informed and maybe even your congressperson.

No surprise, Eric......The county would probably love to shut down hunting.....Also, what's it take to scrape & fill a dirt road?

ps......Davis Rd. at Wister isn't exactly clear sailing......o_O

part of the problem out that way is that its dirt poor. meaning every construction site needs dirt.

In OC if you have a hole to fill you are a rich man, people will line up and pay you to dump clean dirt. and re-crush base is stupid cheap in OC

Out in SJ its the exact opposite. Every site needs dirt and you have to pay to have people bring dirt in. also re-crush base is 4 times the cost.

yes i build roads for a living.

I want 100 bucks cash for labor and a skip loader delivered and I'll tune Davis road up.

FYI - Update from SJWA FB page...

...If they have to do this it probably won't be a viable option for waterfowl season due to the problems they've had in the past there. Time will tell I guess.
