Yep done with the baby prep, rooms painted cribs built, time to shoot some dove! It's been a while since I've gone out to PC Let alone not had hunny baby dues.

Nice Steve! Good to see someone finally found some. Weve scouted some fields that look promising but never found a good concentration of birds. Looks like it's time to revisit. Seems like I never do very well unless the weather hits the triple digits. How were the skeeters?

Brian,

No skeeters so far.....Dry fields are nothing like the alfalfa fields......Hit a wheat field today......;)

Last photo looks like pigeons (AKA rock dove too me ) (please verify Steve). Just so everyone knows there are out of state trappers coming in by the droves in the early spring into the IV and removing the pigeons by using net guns and traps to sell in other places and profit by it in other states by the ten's of thousands of birds. If this continues it will affect the population of birds and very well could effect the current reg's we hunt under and shut down this kind of hunting our way including euro's. I know this because I work with a trapper in the IV to supply my training operation every year and he tells me the birds are disappearing big time. If the birds disappear I'll have to buy more expensive game birds to train the dogs brought to us and you may also lose the euro year round option to them as well. Call your lawmaker and express your concerns..

Interesting Fred....I have not heard this.....I know where we're shooting pigeons & Euros they could possibly catch them via net, but they'll never come close to catching them all.....Net guns aren't cheap to use either.

Euros have had the perfect storm in the IV for a long time.....The feed lots for the most part have now disallowed hunting/shooting.....There are 1000's in these feet lots. With the majority of the birds living in the cities & feeding in the feed lots.....Again, hard place to catch.

With all the talk of Plaster City East recently, we tried hunting PC West today and man, we just couldn't seem to be on the X. Pretty dry out there and lots of dirt bikers! Got a hot tip that the birds were flying between the Ocotillo Chevron and the prison, and man I scored a beauty. What a tail fan on him.. can't wait to get it mounted 3f720f9d0b1e65016663b6340abcc5a8.jpg
