IMG_1176.PNG IMG_1177.PNG Sorry in advance if this is a stupid question, but I'm confused and need clarification on the Lead-Free ban and if it applies now or do I have until July 1, 2019? I recently went dove hunting and it did not apply. Then we entered a WLA and it did.

That said, I do not see D-16 in the non-lead ban and interpret the chart to read 7/1/19 despite hearing from people that there is a Non-Lead van in effect.

Please help. Sorry for asking but it is confusing to me.....

There are some areas in D16 that have additional non-lead requirements for all game, but they are typically only state managed lands. Federally owned lands (national forest, BLM) do not require it until July 2019. I would search the area you plan on hunting on wildlife.ca.gov to see if there are special restrictions.

1st off, there's no stupid questions....lol.....Secondly, as explained above, check the area you're hunting....If it's D-16.....Then the only restrictions would be San Felipe Valley W.A. and any other state owned preserves or W.A.'s.
