    D-8 Help

I have hunted outside of Springville but that was 10 years ago. No telling what has changed there but always saw deer outside of Springville.

    Michigan Success!

I'm glad we moved. It was tough, but we have no regrets. The hardest part is being away from family, but I don't miss the BS politics there so it's nice to live where you are still free. I hunt my own land and I'm no millionaire so chances of me ever being able to do that in CA is unlikely.

    Michigan Success!

Nearly 3 years after ditching California and moving to Michigan, I finally sealed the deal on my first whitetail buck. I've had this stud on camera for the past couple years and he finally slipped up. Saw him the night before I stuck him but he never came into range so I rushed home from work...

    D16 first hunt ever

Congrats dude! I've always believed handed down items like that gun carry part of the spirit of the previous owner. Maybe your old man was there to steady the shot right before you pulled the trigger. Either way, that's a killer first hunt!

    Michigan Deer Opener

There are plenty of deer in the south. I just got access to hunt 240 acres of ground one of my customer owns and for the last three years he's taken between 40-50 does off that 240 acres via special permits, and still sees 300+ month on his land. A farmer around here can get "block permits" to...

    Michigan Deer Opener

Deer season officially opens tomorrow in the great state of Michigan. With my two tags I can take a doe or a spike, and a 4-pt or better. I had a decent 8-pt on camera, just need him to show up when I'm in the stand! Should be an exciting season. The best part is, I'll be hunting about 300 feet...

I'm actually a transplant from SoCal to Michigan...so Michigan is open currently. :P No idea about CA.

    First Goose

So, I know I've been a poor contributor to this site in the last year but I have not had much to add to the SoCal scene. But, after an ill-fated attempt at late goose season early this year (-4 in a foot of snow), I finally sealed the deal. I've wanted a Canada Goose since I started hunting...

Broadheads: Fixed or Mechanical for Deer Hunting

I've used both and in my experience, the mechanicals I shoot now are far superior to the fixed I've shot in the past. I've killed deer with both, but the mechanicals fly much more true in a field point aspect; and I'm just using Cabelas brand! I've used fixed G5's in the past and Thunderheads as...

    CA results are out

Right on. Not making the BBQ this year. Got a bunch of ish going on that weekend. Going to Chicago for a week the week after and have to get a bunch of stuff done before I go. Chicago? That's not too far from me. If you got extra time and want to see how the country boys do it 'round here, let...

    A-32 doe down

I do watch tv, yes. But most of the time it's Octonauts or Mickey Mouse! And that's if I am able. Two little kids doesn't allow much tv time, or any free time for that matter. It's either work, chores, or time with the kids; sometimes combining two or more at the same time. When I do go out...

    Loving Michigan!

No. Got here and started house hunting. Then found one and got busy. Maybe this winter though.
