Went with my grandson and a friend to hunt rabbit at the base , at the same time visit the pig hotspots and scout for deer .saw a couple of nice 3x3 and 2x2 ready for the opener.pig sign are plentiful on waterhole and near bedding area. Had a good time with the kid.

Found a newly shed bull elk at the base while chasing pig . bite mark on the nose and and foot print all over. Rattlers are out too. so be careful out there.

Shot my Cow elk yesterday afternoon and make a 14hour run home just in time for thanksgiving. Story of the hunt to follow.
