Nemo Sonic 0 degree down bag

Sorry for the late reply. Haven’t been on SCH in a while. It’s the regular length.

Nemo Sonic 0 degree down bag

Used 4 nights, too much bag for the 40 degree temps I hunt in. Would be great for temps in low 30s and below. Includes stuff sack and storage bag. Bag retails for $500, selling for $350 with pick up either in the Hesperia/Victorville area or Oxnard area. Can add actual shipping costs if you need...

Colorado Pagosa Springs GMU77 archery elk

At a recent family function I ran into a cousin who I hadn’t seen in probably 20 years. Turns out that he and a group of his friends are doing a 10 day backcountry hunt in this unit. So cool to find we had that common interest. I had no idea he was into hunting. I told him I’ve dreamt of a hunt...

    Last minute preference point question

Thanks! I thought not but just wanted to make sure I wasn’t interpreting things wrong.

    Last minute preference point question

I have X9a as 1st choice and D14 (premium this year) as my 2nd choice. Chances are slim I will draw X9a but I’m pretty sure I’d get D14 even as a 2nd choice. But if I do will I lose my preference points?

    The best buck ever

Thank you, I appreciate the advice. Much of what you suggest are things I have already started doing. I haven’t tried anything to mask scent. Been fairly diligent about scent control. Unscented laundry detergent, body wash, no toothpaste, no deodorant (I find that works better than unscented)...

    The best buck ever

Gave it my best try. Didn't close the deal. But just as with every season before, I have come away feeling like I made some progress. The forky I was after is still out there. I would have preferred to take him home, but knowledge and experience are great consolation prizes. I'm going to...

    The best buck ever

Well, I went back out and it looks like everyone split for now. I’ll have to try again during general.

    The best buck ever

And that’s pretty much the same story here. No deer since then.

    The best buck ever

I took the opportunity to find out what I could get away with for future reference. First one came within 15 feet directly down wind and staring right at me, but she kept eating and looking around. I could turn my head slowly, shift around a little, adjust the position of my bow. No problem, she...

    The best buck ever

I’m after him right now and am being outright harassed by does. They have been around for over an hour. They have now started making some sort of huffing sound at me. But they won’t leave!!! Is that normal?

    The best buck ever

He’s got a buddy still in velvet. But I have only seen that one on camera couple times. My guy is around a lot. Hope he doesn’t change before I find him again.

    The best buck ever

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. I’m currently 8000 miles away for work and all I can think about is getting home and back out there later this week.

    The best buck ever

I know where he lives, I know his habits, I know all his friends. Had my bow drawn on him at 40 yards before he disappeared over a ridge. I know he ain’t much but after 3 years at this he is within reach so that makes him the best buck ever in my book...and I’m gonna get him.

    Wister youth hunt...so unprepared

Thank you, I plan to pick up decoys at bass pro on the way out. Won't be able to make it Saturday morning but I plan to get out in the afternoon on just to check it out. I also checked the temps and with 85˚ in the forecast it won't be so bad getting wet.

    Wister youth hunt...so unprepared

When I checked on the CDFW website last week I somehow missed that my son had a successful draw for Wister on 2/4. I got the mail today and was surprised to find a CDFW reservation letter. So, his reservation number is 95, which from what I gather is pretty bad. I know very little about how...
