It is about time. It was a money taking scam on land we already pay for.

Good news but dang! I already renewed my pass for the year. Oh well.

No worries - our state government will spend it carefully!

I agree, It's about time! I got hassled once for stopping to take a picture driving home from Palmdale.

Excellent. I didn't buy a pass this year based on earlier alerts on this forum. Thanks all for saving me a few bucks!

Soo.... it says hike, walk, or bike. So if ur hunting, that's considered hiking? I just don't want to go and get a ticket for hunting. U know California. Maybe it specifically has to say hunting. ????

I think its focused on parking to do anything except use a campground that charges a per day fee.
We should be OK as long as we don't park in an organized campground.

Any thoughts on this?

My understanding is that it is already in effect for parking in the National Forests to hike, hunt or sit and think. You still need it to use parking lots for camping, picnicking areas or improved toilets.

Speak up or this "good news" will be very temporary: http://freecampsites.net/all-access-to-public-lands-will-require-a-fee/

I'm reviving this post on the need for Adventure passes in CNF. I am not aware of any changes since the above discussion.
