New Hunter From Perris

I like both NF and BLM maps. You might consider looking at the BLM site and ordering specific quadrant maps (such as El Cajon for most of D16). See this link:

Most of us are hunting within the Palm Springs and El Centro regional BLM offices. The BLM maps are different enough from other sources (NF, USGS) that I find them useful. Nowadays with OnX, I get my border and position info in real time off my phone, but I agree with Steve that it's nice to have larger scale maps handy for a wider field of view. I used to rely on USGS 7.5 minute maps primarily and supplement those with larger format maps like BLM and NF maps, but USGS moved to "on demand printing" a few years ago, scrapping their old high-performance printers. The result is that modern USGS topo maps are not worth the paper they're printed on. For detail when I'm in the field, I now use my Garmin rino or iphone with OnX overlays.

This is the ones I purchased, like I said just wondering if there is other better options out there.
