Hello everyone I’m new to to the app @KoozeDeer told me about it and said that I should introduce myself. I’ve been in San Diego for about 3.5 years now, and I’m thinking about trying to hunt here. I’m from colorado originally and I go back pretty much every year to hunt deer and elk. I’m very unfamiliar with the San Diego area In terms of hunting and I just wanted to say hi and listen to any tips or information you guys might have for starting to big game hunt out here.

Deer like BLM land around here plus water, water and did I say water?
Find the seeps you'll find the deer.
Go to the meeting next Tuesday, NWTF San Diego chapter, and you'll meet lots of like minded folks to help you get going.

Welcome to the forum. San Diego is a tough place to hunt but can hold some great deer. It’s certainly a challenge but can be very rewarding, plenty of knowledgeable guys in here!

Lugunas, McCain valley, Otay mountain are all great places to start looking

CK,

Welcome to SCH....Lots of public land to hunt deer here in "The 16"....Cleveland NF, BLM, and state wildlife areas offer miles of land that have deer....Good luck

ps...If you don't have it....Invest in OnX hunts....Much of your scouting can been done there first.
