Wow, This really brings it home for me, sorry for the late response to this, I was away. Drew senior you and your family are in my heart and I am glad to hear your son responded to the care from the doctors, the ER team as well as the ICU folks. A snake bite is no joke, you will be hospitalized for much time and care. I hope this all turns out well in the long run. Drew- Please let me know if I can help educate or with anything else for your family and community to help prevent this in the future. Also when things settle down if you could please provide all of us with the circimstances it might give others thoughts on how to be careful and not put themselves in the situation where this might happen. Again my thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Glad he's on the way to recovery. Tell us the whole story, Drew Sr. How did this happen? I'm with Hatchet on this. Hate rattlesnakes.

Lots of Southern Pacific's in Valley Center. Not sure what type got your son but the SPs are very aggressive and venomous. Snake Gaters and tongs if you have to move one. Otherwise, a 12 gauge works best. Sorry for your and your son. It is hard to watch your kids go through stuff like that and all you can do is pray on your end.

That would be really scary as a father. Glad he’s recovering.
I agree, I'm around them quite a bit but to see someone you care about be struck and get sick adds another dimension to how dangerous these animals are but yet again we have to learn how to exist with something that was here before us and figure out how to live among them in what is really their domain and not ours, we are the invading aliens in the wild here.

F no once humans made there mark on this world we have the inherent responsibility to manage the wildlife, I’d say buzz worms in a back yard is dangerously close to pets, kids and neighbors.

No quarter shall be given.

Can't have them in your yard I agree, send them to the other side, Good luck with trying to eliminate them from everwhere you go in the wild that is their domain, It'll never happen in anyones lifetime. My point is you gotta learn how to coexist in the places outside of our daily lives. Also Karma can be bitch just sayin..
