D11 "gray" areas

The above may be useful. Its a LA County Firearms closure map. Unfortunately it hasnt been updated since 1994 and per my understanding there is no more recent or higher resolution version available. Nevertheless, I've heard people claim NF park rangers still reference it.

Thank you sdolan. That map basically tells me of all areas that are archery only :). For now I only have interest of archery hunting in D11, so that happens to work for me.

Just to throw a small bit caution, I wouldn't treat the map/information as gospel, based on the fact that many areas have been developed since 1994, regulations change, etc.

That map is terrible. Old, barely legible, and from what I can tell not enforced accurately. It's hard to tell for sure because of how poor in quality the map is but areas that are regularly hunted look to be in a no shoot zone? F&G and sheriffs both never had issue. F&G just did their normal checks and sheriffs were always fine once they saw a shotgun and knew you were hunting. One even told me to make sure to keep an eye out for dumpers. Like stated above definitely do not take it as gospel one way or the other.

Question related to the subject. Does the the man with a long gun and a red "NO" circle over him have a defined legal meaning? No target shooting? No hunting? No weapons? I've seen this in a few areas I want to pass though. At one point you would of been able to drive though but as is all to common now days there is a closed gate so you'd have to walk or bike though. I'm guessing at the very least one should be able to cased carry though an area like this which wouldn't be any different then driving though.
