The day started out as a muddy mess with a longer than usual hike in. Got everything set up and waited for the birds to fly. After a short while I already had 5 down by 8am. Then out of nowhere a group of cinnamons came out of nowhere and bam put one down. Sent my dog Duke on a good retrieve (around 100 yards) which he executed perfect. As he handed the bird to me I did what most others do and checked those legs. Bam wouldn’t you know it my first band and on a cinnamon teal non the less. To say I was stoked was a unstatement. This guy will for sure be heading over to Mike Berry to get put on the wall. A little facts on this bird. He was banded 08/08/2018 which was a bummer seeing as he was banded when he couldn’t fly making his age under a year but hey a band is a band. He was banded in Churchill county Nevada which was cool seeing as he had a pretty decent trip down to here. Still on a high from this guy.
