I know some of you use these packs. If you have hauled meat using the load sling did you use one of their bags? I've always used multiple bags made from the cheesecloth type material from Alaska Game bags but it looks like that might be unstable or awkward to cinch up?
I've adjusted the new Icon 3200 and went on some hikes with weight but the instructions for using the load sling look like a pain in the ass to deal with on the side of a mountain. Hope I'm wrong and that I need them this fall.

Load sling cannot be used at the same time as the bag. You use the bag as a load sling......Basically you pack the meat (meat goes into small game bags and place all of it into one large bag) between the frame and bag and cinch it down. Its super easy to do. look up "kuiu meat hauling" on youtube

Are you talking about using their specific game bags? I have always done it with the regular mesh bags like you described although I did order some of the Kuiu game bags recently because I think they are better designed. I’ve packed out many animals using regular game bags with the meat sandwiched between the frame and bag the way they intended. Here’s some pics. The meat and bag don’t always look perfectly stacked but the load still carries well.

I may have not worded my question well. Was wondering if the multiple game bags work like they have in my other packs or if I needed 1 bigger bag like they used in the video. I would think a bag inside another bag would limit air flow.

Thanks for the pics, that helps. Looks like multiple bags will work when cinched down just won't be pretty. I can almost feels the ticks leaving that cape for my neck now.

Yeah multiple bags work fine. I don’t put them all in one big bag. The trimmings, neck meat, flank and all that loose stuff is the most annoying because it kind of balls up. I bought one of the handled game bags from Kuiu for that stuff because it’s structured in a rectangular shape. Bone in quarters stack pretty well especially if you alternate hind quarter and front quarter. I bring an extra bag now for the head and cape, although it certainly isn’t a perfect seel. I love my Icon pro 3200.... that pack carries so well. Perfect for anything from day hunting to a few nights.
