I took the grandson on the trip with me, his first WSB trip. We went out to San Nic. Aside from my 34" halibut the morning was a bust, no current. We went out for some shallow water rock fish, but there was no size to them at all. About 11:30 we went back to join the fleet and the current had picked up. I ended up with three WSB to around 40 lbs. one halibut. Carte got on very nice YT, his first big one and one WSB 25 lbs. All then fish were caught between 11:30 and two. 15 guys got 17 WSB, two halibut and several YT.IMG_20200701_115841366.jpgIMG_20200701_125545367.jpg

I love WSB on the BBQ. Looks like a fun trip.
 
Good job.
I do have a question though since I dont fish salt what is that fish behind you the red and black one? looks like it could put a heap of hurt on someone lol be good for one of them cheesy t&a killer fish teen movies lol

That is a sheepshead. Also known as Poor Man's Lobster. Very good white meat( wait a minute can I say that) and they have a pretty good yield to weight ratio

Oh yes....yes they do..im all about the white meat..
 
WSB cooked in corn bread stuffing with jalapenos in there. Halibut marinated in lemon juice, rosemary and olive oil. Won't ever get better.
