to call this the worse year would be a ummmm myopic comment.

NOTHING that trump has done or did not do would have changed anything about covid. Couple facts we are roaring back. People are buying goods at a crazy clip. go try to buy a car, bike , computer and so on. Tax increases will drive inflation and kill the economy. Wealth redistribution has not and will not work.

can you please give one example of how trump has incited violence or division? its bs being pushed by the MSM, The current violence is a LIBERAL PROBLEM not a right wing racist problem.

The narrative that we have never been so divided is horse shit. Its what CNN and MSNBC want you to think, its what the left wants you to think. You might think trump is a ass hole but lets see you get attacked non stop, have your civil rights violated and your family slandered and see how nice you are.

oh the civil war called and said " we are the most divided"

I will chime in on two points ive noticed and I’m just a simpleton

I noticed the racial tension really began during the Obama administration
2nd during the first 6 months of trumps presidency I made more in my 401k than I did under 8 years under obummer. So for me besides the Supreme Court pics and 2nd amendment it’s all about my retirement. And let me say under President Trump I’ve close to doubled mine in less than 4 years

@Aeon

I never said "we are the most divided" check back...it isn't there. I'm unclear where this comes from?

I stand by the belief that 2020 has been the worst year in living memory, but if you have an alternative I'd be interested in hearing it.

If you don't see the consequences of "very fine people on both sides" from the neo-nazi march at Charlottesville I'm not sure what would convince you. I totally agree the MSM has it in for him, but he hasn't done himself or the country any favors.

If I understand your point about COVID it is that there was zero positive or negative effect the President could have on the outcome for the country. Really? One need merely look at outcomes in other countries to see that is clearly not the case. Depending on what approaches those countries took they have very different outcomes in terms of both death rates and the economy closing.

And I agree about tax and wealth redistribution - it won't help anyone. You still have to assemble a governing majority that makes people's lives better. And hey, maybe I'm wrong and we will see huge turnout for Trump and we'll get four more years. What I think is more likely is that he loses, the Republicans get routed, and we have one party rule for the foreseeable future.

We need at least two viable political parties or we are screwed. Look at CA politics and you can see what happens when the Republicans don't even have the potential to assemble a governing majority. Swamp creatures and identity politics from the left are out of control.

@skeet Re:401k - I think you can thank Mitch McConnell and Jerome Powell (appointed by Trump) Chairman of the Fed for that.

Guys I'm just some dumb redneck that likes to kill things and go camping in the woods. But I can tell you one thing's for sure American people will not put up with a socialist society. I for one will not stand for socialist society. I will not go down without a fight. If that means Civil War so be it. God help the United States if it comes to Civil War.

@monyako i reject your example
https://www.politifact.com/article/2019/apr/26/context-trumps-very-fine-people-both-sides-remarks/

read the transcript of the whole conversation. context matters, a lot sometimes.

Reporter: (Inaudible) "… both sides, sir. You said there was hatred, there was violence on both sides. Are the --"

Trump: "Yes, I think there’s blame on both sides. If you look at both sides -- I think there’s blame on both sides. And I have no doubt about it, and you don’t have any doubt about it either. And if you reported it accurately, you would say."

Reporter: "The neo-Nazis started this. They showed up in Charlottesville to protest --"

Trump: "Excuse me, excuse me. They didn’t put themselves -- and you had some very bad people in that group, but you also had people that were very fine people, on both sides. You had people in that group. Excuse me, excuse me. I saw the same pictures as you did. You had people in that group that were there to protest the taking down of, to them, a very, very important statue and the renaming of a park from Robert E. Lee to another name."

Reporter: "George Washington and Robert E. Lee are not the same."

Trump: "George Washington was a slave owner. Was George Washington a slave owner? So will George Washington now lose his status? Are we going to take down -- excuse me, are we going to take down statues to George Washington? How about Thomas Jefferson? What do you think of Thomas Jefferson? You like him?"

Reporter: "I do love Thomas Jefferson."

Trump: "Okay, good. Are we going to take down the statue? Because he was a major slave owner. Now, are we going to take down his statue?

so if you protest anything relating to the confederates you are a racist??????? come on don't fall for the trap. just because he talks out of his ass sometimes does not incite anything. The MSM wants you to think that was racist and he is evil..........

there were good people on both sides. ones that wanted to remove the history and ones that wanted to preserve it. There were also racist there.

so try again :) i am guessing you cant find anything

Remain calm. The vast majority of Americans don't want socialism. There will be no civil war regardless of who wins the election.
IMO the best thing you can do for yourself, your family, and your country in times like these, is to Vote and be a responsible decent member of society. Don't let politics get in the way of basic good traditional human values.

With that said, It never hurts to be prepared for contingencies. Did you know there is a 37% chance southern CA could have a devastating earthquake because of the San Andreas fault over the next 30yrs? ..just saying.

there is not going to be a civil war..... to have a war two sides need a army. Well kids from what i see only one side has one and they sure as hell are not about to drive electric tanks. :)

new phrase

I get it guys.

Wildgame: trust me man I'm prepared for both. I would much rather have the earthquake then a war.

Aeon: did you serve? I did not serve but I do know enough to be worried. The commander-in-chief has control of all military branches. If Biden wins the election and a war what's to start , all military branches would be controlled by the Democrats. Think about that. I know in the Marines Commander in Chief is like God. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Our two party system delivered a narcissistic agent of chaos, and doddering old fool, so yeah, more chit show coming up.

Meanwhile: unemployment, identity politics, loss of rights (!st and 2a) and CHINA!!! The CCP and PLA think we are weak and for the taking.

Out international standing has been massively diminished over the last four years. People in other countries feel sorry for us. We are Americans WTF!!!

I don't know much about other countries, but I can tell you the good folks of Canada love Trump...In fact, they've told me many times they wish they had a president (prime minister) that had the balls he has...A Canada 1st mentality, if you will.

ps...How many times does it have to be told that this 'Virus" came out of nowhere and just happened to come from China and an election year...Creating chaos was the only thing that could stop our economy and OUR president.

pss...Trump has create divisiveness?...NOBODY created divisiveness like Obama did, especially between police and blacks.

@ilovesprig Check out the data from the Pew Trust (hardly a leftist organization). The clear takeaway is that sentiment around Trump has to do with ideological perspective. He is popular with conservatives internationally and unpopular with non-conservatives. However, when you look at the data you can see there are far more independent and non-conservatives, so the approval is quite low.

Maybe that matters and maybe is doesn't. He is OUR president, and I want my president to be popular in my country not with people he doesn't represent overseas.

With respect to divisiveness - if you don't see it I am certainly not going to convince you, but my view concretized with General Mattis' comment: “Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people—does not even pretend to try. Instead, he tries to divide us." That is the judgment of a Marine four star general and Trump's appointed secretary of defense. Good enough for me.

To my mind the best argument that could be made for Trump is that he is the first president in many years to not get us in new wars. He has worked harder and been more successful than prior presidents at getting us out of the middle east. And while his record on China is mixed - it is better than every other president since Nixon.

There is a positive and constructive argument to be made for Trump, but he didn't do it in the debate, and I think he is losing the independents and the middle. He is clearly losing the suburbs. Trump has his base locked in - that is clear. Where he has failed, and this might be the influenced by the MSM, but he also has responsibility is in expanding his coalition to 50%+1. I think he is a one and done president.

If he is in fact, a "One and done president", then you younger folks will deal with the wrath of socialism, the elimination of our 2nd amendment rights, and the destroying of our hunting heritage...If you can deal with that, vote Biden/Harris and roll the dice...I'm sure China, Iran, many others will appreciate it.

NOBODY ' has ever divided this country the way Obama did.

What this tells me is that your eye is off the ball. It looks like Trump is about to get a 3rd Supreme Court Justice, not to mention the 53 Circuit Court judges he's gotten. These judges will be deciding cases that will affect your life for the next 30+ years. Why do you think the left is talking about packing the courts? It's because they know Trump has been so effective at shaping it that they're willing to do whatever is necessary to gain power. You're writing on a hunting forum about your experiences, so obviously the 2nd Amendment and the right to hunt are important to you. I recall you writing that you're not going to vote this year, and that's your prerogative -- but gun rights are very important to many people here and there's only one way to vote if you want those rights protected.

There so clueless its sickening.... and sorry if his democratic party dont get there way in there plot of cheating like always this will be Trump 2020 by historical landslide. Hell I know at least 15 Democrats changing sides and changed political parties. And that's not counting the countless ones that I've read in YouTube comments. This younger generation dont understand we are sticking up for there future a future they wouldn't like but are blinded by peer pressure MSM and all the fake news. Oh yea antifa is just a theory. And Biden didn't wear a wire the other night huh we didn't see the proof with our own eyes. Wake up Dude and learn the truth. As of Mr president dividing us mabey your blinders are definitely on way to tight and no sense talking about with you. Let me ask you this do you watch all the stuff he does daily and all the stuff he signs and does for our country and all races? I mean really like watch like I do, not bits and pieces from the internet or news? Well I do! I watch all his stuff in and out the White House. America was just fine and every thing was great just 6 months ago before the election infection and your democratic party's Plandemic to make Trump and the economy look bad. This America the land of the free and I damn well guarantee you it will stay that way even if we have to repeat the past......... there are way to many of us that will not let your democratic party turn us into a socialist country. Wake up and all be prepared.
