As some of you know but most of you don’t my wife and I are foster parents. We have 5 kids 1 of which is our foster son that we picked up at 2 days old from the hospital in August of 2019 beginning our journey into the foster care system. This has been one of the hardest things we have ever done. Around three months in we could barely keep our heads above water. A ministry Restoration 225 came alongside of us and put a support community around us. They would help watch our kids bring us meals do laundry etc. This radically changed our lives and was a huge blessing to my family.

Long story short I am now a board member for Restoration 225 and we are doing a fundraiser run to raise money for the ministry. My family will be running next Wednesday around Lake Murray. If you want to donate you can go to the below link to do so. Any and everything is appreciated and you have my word that these funds will be put to good use right here in San Diego. This ministry is changing lives and we are a living testament to that

Tried to do foster and it was night mare, after 2 years I said we're done. We do something similar through the church. GOD BLESS you and your wife lots of sacrifice there.

This is a great example of why this ministry works. 50% of foster families quit after the first year. With a care community around them 90% continue to foster beyond the first year. Just that little bit of support changes lives.

I just put communities around two more foster families in East County this week.

Great to see kids going to a good home! We looked in to Foster to adopt when we decided to have a child. We did not like the risks involved with the process. We knew we could not handle raising a child with the potential that the birth parents could pop up one day and take them back. After seeing how broken the foster system is it really opened our eyes to how bad it can be for these kids. We took a class and we were the only two people in the room of 20+ people who did not ask questions about how much money they would get. They did not care about the children, only the money. It was really heart breaking knowing people treat these kids like paychecks. We have talked about fostering when our son is older knowing that we will probably not be able to adopt but we would be able to help a child in need of a stable and loving home for as long as they need it

We ended up doing a traditional adoption with our son.
