I forgive you, I just want it back.
Who ever took it physically cut the strap and left it in their makeshift blind. (Or it blew into there).
At this point, all I can do is call it a loss and forgive the person who took it. They may have thought I was in their spot. It’s public land and there were no stands or cams near by. Not til I came back to check on it at least.
If it was you, or you know who or where it is just let me know. They aren’t cheap and I’ve paid for the year plan. I won’t report you, name you or call you out.
I just want it back. Please do the right thing. Yes I’m mad. It’s a lot of work to get up here and get them set up. Especially since I’m an hour and a half away and it’s $60 in gas per trip.
Last photo was 9/17 this is also the last time it synced. Stealthcam trail tek cell cam.
Last 5 of the sim are 57953.
If you happen to see it for sale on offer up craigslist or any of the forums let me know please.95FA5FE7-EAC5-4271-BB4B-215859373591.jpeg55701AED-BA61-49C2-BA67-AF348BBF965B.jpeg6C9CE372-8F49-41BC-8EE7-77441E2BFE36.jpeg

I dont know what kind of scum of the earth feel that its acceptable to take other peoples belongings. Unfortunate that you didnt get a picture of them. I hope you get your stuff back. Seems like high end cam mfgs could do more to stop this like GPS, etc.

@GUNDOGLOVER49 the way I was taught; I’ve been forgiven of so much more. Wouldn’t be right to not forgive something like this. They’re probably angry sad frustrated or entitled. Maybe an ounce of forgiveness can put a bandaid on one of those wounds. Not for me to judge though.

Response like this makes me feel good about humanity.

Agi,

You're a good person....

I often wonder what kind of man steals another mans hunting gear...Well, I found out once...He was a manager of a water district property, he was not hurting for money, he had been caught spot lighting, and he was a dirt bag from all accounts...His excuse was, he thought it was a poachers cam ...I had permission on the prop...He did not...After being called out...The cam mysteriously showed up on caretakers porch.......;)

He really did that? I hadn't heard that story. Sad to say it doesn't surprise me.

Damm, that's why I don't put any cameras.
God help me if I ever catch a thief stealing from me...seriously God help me.
I'm so sorry.

I went back and looked a bit more today. I found a bunch of man made natural blinds. Some one had taken their time up there to make a spot. I didn’t see any of that when I put it up. I do my best to look for blinds stands or cameras while tracking and before I put anything up. I may have encroached sure. I could understand taking it down and turning it off, taking the card, cutting up the strap, leave a note even. But why take it?

Real simple. He is a POS thief.

Yeah, you never know. We had some Idaho local "hunters" show up at our camp at 1AM looking for trouble Friday night. We talked them down but there are a lot of crazies out there. I am honestly more concerned about people than animals.

My dad and I were sleeping in our tent when we hear a loud truck pull up and guys get out (1 AM). They mention something about California (saw our plates I guess), bikes and f'ing with us or messing with us. My dad and I both get up and out of the tent and recognized one of the guys after a little while who was a prick to us last year. They start asking us what we are doing and all sorts of nonsense. They were drunk and trying to intimidate us.

My dad is scared of no man and I am 6'3" 240 and can hold my own. There was one other truck that pulled up also and we couldn't tell who or how many were in it. The stupid banter continued on between us and them, not outright hostile but there was tension and I was firm with me responses. I think after a few minutes they could tell they were not going to get anywhere. We went back to bed leaving them on "decent" terms.

It was a delicate balance because even though I physically could have taken every one of them, being outnumbered with drunk a-holes who likely had firearms is a delicate position to be in. Bullies are the worst. I am still not sure if I want to report it or not. I dont want a target on our back for next year but things could have gone REAL bad REAL quick.

That is the last time I camp without firepower though.

Hate that. I had a cam soaking for awhile in one of my favorite spots and was excited to get out to it. Even took off work to hike and get it, only to find the SD card gone. Losers.
Sorry to hear that’s happened to you. Really takes the wind out of your sails.
