Thanks for sharing and sounds like it wasn't for the lack of trying! Looks like I will be getting rain 4 of the 5 days that I plan to hunt elk next week..the weather is unpredictable out here. Getting snow tonight in some parts of the mountains.
I hear its gets good closer to Thanksgiving out here. I wanted to check out Ft. Boise and CJ as well. I hunted the Snake last year a couple times but wasn't that productive. Only managed 2 mallards. My friends buddy got two limits of green heads at lake lowel last week but I hear it gets hit...
That I have not tried. I feel that is something I'd try if I had a large surplus of meat and wanted to clear the freezer. Unfortunately I haven't been lucky enough to have that problem but I would try it.
Oh and I also used shredded duck meat to make duck machaca burritos to take to the duck blind.
I've done some duck breast courtesy of @ilovesprig in the insta-pot. Added some beef broth, onions and garlic and it shredded up like a pot roast. It was delicious and we used it for Duck Tamales.

I definitely will be taking some extra meals and snacks for emergency. I imagine it will be a little unnerving at times especially since we got more predators out here then we did back in Cali but I hope to get comfortable in the new environment. I'll have my sidearm with me and tags for all...
Are you gonna be hunting out here in ID again? I have been planning some different routes and studying the area a lot. Taken some drives out there but haven't had a lot of time to get miles on the ground. My wife and daughters are going back to SD for a week so taking advantage of having the...
