Yeah, I just spoke with my Dad and no one went up this past weekend. That place is a zoo on the openers but will quiet down some after, weekdays are your friends.

My opinion is don't stress on all that stuff, chances are you won't be alone no matter how far in you get, make sure of what you are shooting at and of your backstop when taking a shot, if there are others around you try to position yourself to be able to take advantage if they bust something...

All the NF closures have got me to thinking about how many of you camp when you hunt locally, especially big game. I grew up in D16 and later D19 after they split D16 apart, camping every weekend during hunting season with my family, same spot every time and my Dad and several friends still do...

I've killed a bunch of deer and antelope with one, plus a cow elk and all were bang flops except for one antelope buck and that was because the scope mount came loose without me knowing it. The 25-06 is like the hammer of Thor on So Cal deer, use it with confidence.

Lucky D16 for me, I also drew a deer tag here in Colorado but struck out for Elk. Hopefully I able to get out to D16 with my Dad and friends for a few days this season.

The biggest buck I've ever seen in So Cal was in D15, easy 24" wide and 4x4. Sadly it's been closed off to hunting now but when I saw him 18 years ago it was huntable, I regret not getting a tag and going after him. Seeing him go over the ridge and bed down to where I could see just his antlers...
