    Pig Hunt range workout

yeah it was quite a nice day, finally got to shoot my rifle it has been almost a year. Sighting the .270 went alright, but then it started shooting high. I am going to have to go back and get some more practice and make sure it is alright before I get ready for my pig hunt. I shot about 30~35...

    My first (real) season.

At least we have our brains and "long range" weapons. It is tough to kill prey, no doubt about it.

    My first (real) season.

Sounds like my first year. Not first day. First year of deer hunting. I scouted an area months before, an area I thought wouldn't have any hunters back in the green mountains in Vermont. I had cameras and everything, and patterned a whitetail buck, got a tree stand and went there to get him...

    D11 "gray" areas

Target shooting (bow n arrow) is illegal within city limits that I know. And I read that shooting your bow (target) in the national forest where hunting is allowed, is also illegal. Just like target shooting with firearms in hunting zones in the entirety of Angeles national forest is illegal...

Archery hunters allowed to carry firearms (WITH CCW)

believe it or not we had that same law in VT, no sidearm when archery hunting. Buying a firearm in VT is the easiest thing in the world, and you can carry whenever wherever concealed or not. makes no sense whoever came up with that. most bowhunters I know carried a pistol when hunting though...

    D11 "gray" areas

That's not legal in LA County. At least in LA county I am 100% sure it is illegal.

    D11 "gray" areas

So the yellow area is technically public land, but owned by the city, and NO HUNTING allowed (clearly). Which means I can't walk in that area with my bow, even if it is strapped to my backpack. Correct? No firearm, just compound bow.

    D11 "gray" areas

So I have to walk through the yellow area to get to the national forest. Can I carry my bow strapped to my backpack while I am getting to the national forest? how do I get my bow to the national forest?

    How's the A22 going.

I have one. Bought one from Spot v1 about 8 years ago for backcountry skiing. Paid way less back then, those things are getting expensive!!!. Wouldn't help with bigfoot, aliens, creepy stuff. lol. Or more realistic, mountain lions, for that I have my 10mm auto, oh wait, can't carry that when...

    How's the A22 going.

Why did you have to make me aware of this sir? I was such a happy person in my forests. Man that stuff is creepy as hell. It took me many hunting trips to get over the fear of hiking back to my truck in darkness after shooting hours, now I am back to ground 0.
