So I was heading out to the desert with the family on Wednesday and right as I mentioned to my family to keep there eyes open for big horn sheep we turn a corner and there they are....

So I came across this today.....heron or egret? It had long legs and long neck , black with some white and brown up near the breast area ...anyone have an idea of what it might be ...just curious.

So I’m debating on either the 10mm or 357 mag as a hunting sidearm. I hunt here locally in the CNF and plan to do other out of state hunts for bigger game in the future. Which one would be best? I reload and am already set up for 9mm with small pistol primers which would also work for 357 mag...

Took the dog and family for a walk and couldn’t get but 20 yards from my house and saw these in the neighbors yard. This is here in valley center. I’m hoping all these local birds I’ve been seeing are an omen for me and when I get to public land hunting next couple of weeks!!!

Did some scouting today. Saw 4 hens no toms or jakes but presume they are close to them. I need to head out to same place at dawn to try a hike in before fly down. Over all I’m optimistic. Also found some nice BLM land near by for target practice.

With turners and big 5 closed does anyone know if Walmart sells hunting license? Or know where I can get one? Thanks.

Just curious. Since shot placement is crucial for a humane take and not wanting to destroy any precious meat, was wondering how many of you use/run a red dot and your thoughts on having one?

Turkeys here in valley center!!! Was driving around my neighborhood and there they were. 3 toms with nice 6-7 in beards and one had a double beard. Flocked up with 4 hens. Didn’t have to travel far to find them. Hope you all had fun today at the TTU.

Hey guys and gals. With turkey season upon us I’ve been looking at a lot of “Map Porn” and am about to start putting some boots on the ground. What I’ve found out so far is that there is CNF land on both sides of the 76 by the lake,the gun club and VID. I’ve used a parcel tool map, BLM map...
