The YFT are still on the bite and the bluefin are also picking up. I went out again last week and we did real good on both. We didn't manage limits because about an hr. into the drift, the cooling water pump for the generator went out which killed the bait tank pump and the RSW to the holding tanks. I think we ended up with 20 BFT 25-60 lbs. and 50 YFT 20-35 bs. I didn't manage any BFT but limits of YFT. All of which I gave to friends. We left the tuna grounds about 5 hrs. early. No pump = no bait. The owner of the Aztec meant us at the dock and gave us all a free return trip. Which I found very generous beings we got a fair number of tuna. I was thinking a 50% off ticket. Real stand up owner. But anything less would have been bad PR.

Aztec is a great boat. A lot of people drive far to fish out of SD, so i'm glad he was generous for the comp.

Go get em! Sadly, my free days are numbered so i'm picking vension vs ahi right now, or else i'd be out there.

HELLO FRIEND DO YOU NEED MY NUMBER :)

I hope they can hang for a little while longer. I have a huge list of honey-do’s, but as soon as I can, I’m hauling my boat to shelter island. I’m also repowering my Skipjack this winter, so next season I’ll have a bigger platform and four times the range
