Buck down for the lady

Well we were able to get on a buck this morning. Moments after glassing up 3 does and 2 mountain lions, Anna spotted this buck 375 yards below us. She made a perfect shot shooting downhill. The hammer bullets did great, there was quarter sized chunks of lung on the short blood trail. Now to fill her archery tag!

I’ve seen around 20 lions or so in the wild almost all but a few have been out in the open like this, grass, sage brush and rock chutes. I can’t imagine the ones that I have looked over that are in the brush and timber!

Nice buck. Congrats. I had a lion chase 3 does right up to me the other day. Unfortunately they weren’t holding a buck. Because I would have loved to shoot a buck out from underneath a lion. Over populated bastards. Time to start catching them and releasing them up in Sacramento where the protection is created. Let them deal with the issue
