Dead bunny

I spotted this guy chewing on some stuff and i wanted to see if practice is paying off. 30+ yrds shot made this bunny jump about 20 feet. I was amazed.
At closer inspection he had a bunch of little ticks and flies and the news about some weird rabitt disese made him look not very apetizing.
How do i not get flies and ticks while skinning game in the field?
First kill with my bow...honestly 65lbs is way too powerful for small game. I might get a cheap less punchy bow to screw around with small game.

Used to use the "Judo Head" for small game back in ancient times when my shoulders allowed me to pull a bow...

Those spring arms were real handy when I missed as they grab the grass or whatever ground cover there was and stop the arrow and kick it over and made it easy to find.
