How about some pix of opening week-end....2018

This was our combined effort from Sunday morning... After hunting Sat afternoon by myself and getting skunked (I took 1 shot all afternoon!) I hunted Sun morning with @Slayersmith and got into some teal action. In between the teal flights we had ourselves a coot shoot too (yep they're on the strap).. couldn't resist haha. Also heard someone get a band.. could hear them hootin' and hollerin' from a mile away. Fun stuff.

Two friends/parties hunted the two best spots.....Got 8 ducks for I think 6 guys.....Brutally slow.

My friends duck club (which I think is best in the valley)…..Got zero ducks Saturday.

Ouch. Me and the boys were going to hunt Wister on this Wednesday but we arnt gonna go. We will be there Halloween to use that #1 res though.
I read a report that had the San J numbers for Saturday and it seemed pretty good. Lots of teal.

Tried for another opening day mallard limit and failed. Scotch doubled on my first shot, killing a hen behind the greenhead I shot so 7 drakes wasn't happening. Got to 5 lards and got tired of working on my sunburn so I shot a couple of the constantly present teal. 10 year old dog did not skip a beat making some long retrieves for the group in heavy cover.
