I've hunted 5 days so far this deer season. I hunted my best spot where I've never seen anyone but two guys screwed the whole area up by target shooting that morning maybe even to scare off deer on the opener for nada in the am drove to another spot in the pm and saw 2 does. Hunted Sunday didn't see any deer. Hunted Monday didn't see any deer but I did see a bit of sign. Hunted yesterday and my dad finally got one on the ground. We met Johnny aka sdbirds at our spot at first light and hiked in. We finally got to our ridge to glass at 7:50 and before we could sit down my dad saw what he thought was a doe and tells Johnny the second he puts his binos up he says in a normal tone of voice it's a buck shoot him. I can't find him so my dad shoots twice and misses him. I have him in the scope dead center stopped and broadside and click the safety's on. Then johnny says you guys suck and my dad says screw you jokingly in response and drops the buck with a shot to the spine. Which looking back at it is one of my funnier hunting moments. As we were hiking out my buddy calls to see if I want to hunt today and i said hell ya. We got to our spot before first light this morning we glassed until 7:30 and the he says lets go somewhere else there's no deer here. so we drive to another spot and I say lets glass here for a minute not 2 seconds after we stop the truck we here gun shots and see deer running uphill. We go down a little ridge off the side of the road and still seeing the deer walking uphill he puts up the glass and says the last on behind the 5 does is a buck. I quickly set up my bipod get the scope on him flick the safety off line him up in the cross hairs and breathe out about to pull the trigger and say screw it he's too far and let's put a stalk on him. We get to were he was and wait and wait and wait until we determined he disappeared and said screw it lets go back to the truck and glassed for him a bit more but he was gone.
