OK I know I dont post here much but this is about to get real

More than likely many of you don't follow the Mid Continent Snow Goose Conservation Season and the devastation due to Bird Influenza. The loss of mostly snow geese was substantial like due to their own characteristics of feeding, roosting and migrating in large flocks

The bird loss continued into Canada several months ago and now Canada will not allow US hunters to transport birds back this fall, which puts US hunters in a lil bind

Yesterday the CA DFW came out with this

Now, add the total mismanagement of water supply's and the loss of 75% of rice fields not being planted, severe water deliveries cuts to refuges with possibly delayed openings, reduced capacity or refuges being closed down completely such as Kern.

Now with less water for wintering waterfowl, this fall if this Bird Flu is around this is the perfect scenario for a absolute disaster

Pay Attention!!!!!!!

Shaping to be a catastrophic year for sure. No feed for the migrating birds so they are going elsewhere. No/limited water means what birds are there will be congested and open to disease. Of the refuges get limited water then public hunting will be severely reduced. If the birds leave to find food IMO we are seeing the end of the valley holding birds

Of course we focus on the ducks and geese we hunt but the birds that are protected like the Bald Eagles, Swans and Cranes will be hit hard

Hunting sure was good back in the rice burn years down south, maybe we will see some birds migrating south for some tortilla again this year .
