I'm packed. Decoys in the bag, dove tree built and painted, camo clothes ready, dog ready, Reservations made. I even called the hotel to check on them. We have a house full of people ready and waiting. CAN NOT WAIT!!!

The year round shooting of Euros has taken a little bit of the excitement off the traditional opener.....I do wish they'd close the Euro season a month (August) before our mourning & white-wing season.

I agree, but Sept 1st does symbolize the official start to the new hunting season. That is just exciting in itself.

Still producing Steve? That's awesome...In about a week I will start stacking the gear on the work bench, replacing batteries in the Mojo and going over the list of stuff I take. Cant wait

It's a pretty cool thing when dawn breaks on Sept 1st and you can hear all the shots pouring into the Imperial Valley sky. And to know that there are thousands of other hunters across the US doing the same thing!

THIS SUCKS!!!!! Just got a letter from our land lord. We have been in the same house for 8 years. We were just told we have to move by the end of September. I'm going to miss my first dove opener since I started hunting. I just got new decoys, built a tree and bought a whole bunch of shells. I also had to cancel my reservations. Dam dam dam.

New member here to this website. I have not been dove hunting in about 4 years. I used to go down to the Salton Sea in Imperial County. Anyone know if that area is still viable? If not where are some other good places to go?
