The sun was setting fast..we new we had to make a move ...as the trophy was heading to the mesquite thicket..where he would be gone forever..out of our lives..with no truck access..(damn it!!) We dawned the packs and started our decent in to the void...we have to make it about a half mile to get to were I thought we would have a shot ..with light fading fast..it was go time....to be continued..
..as we got to where I thought he would be..he was gone..vanished..just as I was gonna say fck it..#3 boy says..Dad..I see um!! He has flanked us and some how got behind us and was mad dogging us at about 320yds...before I could get my rifle set up...#3 had his bi pod down and I heard that ominous sound I've heard thousands of times before...the sound of the safety going hot..the cockblocker was gonna cockblock me again..shocking right? Well..I became spotter..called out the range .this buck was doggin us hard..it was now or never ..I think I heard #3 say..I'm gonna give it to him..then KAPOOW!! The rest is history .the trophy hit the dirt and never even twitched.. This is by far the oldest deer we've ever shot..and there have been 1or2...a giant body with donkey ears..warrior for sure...we have a "management" tag left to fill and 1 day to fill it...standby for buck #2 16ers!! But for now ...I give you..Mr. Crabs..

The supreme cockblocker did it again...I've had it...I'm convinced I'll never shoot another mammal again with these guys around...fck me. A nice "shithead" as the ranch calls it..we got the green light to cull this buck outta the 120,000 acres...the boy wasted no time putting him to rest...the best part about this was that using my cat like maneuvering skills..I was able to get the TRUCK right to it!!! Time to sip some brown around a campfire tonight and reflect...we are West bound and down early in the morning....another MASSACRE has come to an end...until next time 16ers..
