A Crappie Wednesday at the Hodge

Bass fishing has been super tough at Hodges for Jim & I...So, we decided we'd start with crappie...Good decision...Trolling & drifting in 20-25' of water was the ticket...Fish were down about 10-12'...Good eats coming up...

I think we got 16...58-60 degrees...Great eats coming up too...

Perfect temp. Hard to find a better eating fish. Looks like someone else has an interest.

Doc,

A $5.00 Wal-Mart rod (6 1/2', medium action), with a Shimano Saros FA 2500 reel, 8 lb Triple Fish camo line, pink/pearl/chartreuse Arkie straight tail plastic, and a 1/16 oz hot pink jig head...Added a split shot to get in that 10-12' range.

The water at Henshaw is still cold and the crappie bite historically starts in April...Dropping the water recently won't help, unless we get some serious rain soon.
