If anyone is going out towards Blythe today the I-10 is closed indefinitely due to a bridge washout near Desert Center...

I was driving home from az. The desert was a lake with the "shore" brimming the raised lanes of the 10 and pouring over in spots. That was between blythe and desert center, had to turn around at corn springs rd, back to blythe. I live in wrightwood so i took 95n to the 62 w to the 247n to the 18w to the 15 to bypass the 10 all together as the 10 was flooded in other areas.

6 hour drive turned into 11 with a 200 mile detour

SDMike and I were planning to go out east Sunday for some cottontails and scouting, but called it off due to danger of flooding and washouts. Turned out to be the right call. Sorry to hear your trip went badly, but glad you are safe.

Since i wasnt in immediate danger, with the thought of the drought situation on my mind, and seeing the most water in the desert that i can remember, it was an overall good experience

I hope the driver of the truck that got smashed is ok

The desert can change quickly!........Don't cross streams of mud.......This was just outside of Ocotillo.
