Just got back from the Eastern Sierra's with Kevin & Cal.....Really cold & windy Thursday & Friday, but just as beautiful as I remember it as a kid.....Saw some old friends that live up there too.....Fishing was only fair in most places we fished which included, Rock Creek, Rock Creek Lake (best), Buckeye Creek, Virginia Lakes (Upper was frozen), Upper & Lower Twins, East Walker River, Bishop Creek, and the Owens River.....Here's a few pix..... ;D

ps.....Found one pretty good arrowhead near where I shot my biggest buck back in 1972 (Buckeye Creek)..... ;)

Steve,
That looks like a great trip. Must be nice to be retired! I'll be back in the menachie wilderness this weekend. Thanks so much for that advise last year. The sierras are awesome.

Sounds like an awesome trip. Did you happen to drive up Tioga Pass? I heard it opened recently.

Nothing better then fresh trout over an open fire in the Sierras. Have I ever told you that you are one of my idols? New mexico last month, high Sierras this month. Living the dream my friend.

I was at Rock creek on Thursday! What were they biting on in the lake? feel like I tried everything. Fished the inlet with my fly rod, hit the upper Owen's too.

A223,

Congrats.......Hell of a fish out of the UO....... 8)

We fished the other end of the lake by the launch ramp......I didn't throw bait and my fish were mostly caught on gold Kastmasters. My biggest fish (16 1/2") was caught on a brown trout Thomas Buoyant.

Cal threw nitecrawlers for the littler rainbows and Kevin threw silver Super Dupers mostly and got the biggest rainbow at 18".

Sprig,

Very nice! Good to know. One of the bigger ones I've gotten out of that lake is was near the outlet off a silver Kastmaster. Plan on going back late June.

Awesome Stevo. Glad you got back up. I have tons of obsidian from up there. A few are arrowhead-ish, but not for sure.
