Los Angeles - Small Game Hunting

Hi Everyone,

I just finished up Hunters Ed (getting the license in July) and was hoping someone would help show me some of the ropes. I've been shooting most of my life and own a Mosin and a Ruger 10/22, but never hunting and would like to try my hand at small game near LA (probably San Bernardino, Kern County areas).

I thought I have to wait till I pass the 2nd portion of Hunter's Ed at the end of July before I can apply for a Hunting License. Is that not the case?

Do you have your card? If so, you are good to go. You can do the initial training online, but you have to bring that certificate with you and complete the in-person training session as well in order to get your card and HE number. If you have a card and a number, for example AC 99712, you can purchase a license.

Welcome to SCH......Where'd you take your test?.....Sounds like you can buy the 2017-18 right now.....Get yourself a shotgun.....Opens a whole different world of hunting.

I think he only completed the online class and still needs to do the in person test .

No card yet, I still need to take the in-person training.

I've only completed the online portion so far. And don't worry, a shotgun is next on my list once I've saved up enough.
