Anybody ever trout fish in Lytle creek? I mean not just throw trout tackle in the water but actually catch trout. I know they don't stock it anymore but are there any wild natural spawned trout? I'd love to do some fly fishing there

Wow.......Having heard the name Lytle Creek in a long time.......Used to fish it many years ago with my cousin......Planters back in those days. If it's like most streams in SoCal, it's pretty much void of trout (no more planting).......You know, they may eat an Arroyo Toad...... ::)

I love lytle creek but sadly there are no wild trout left, :'( I would go to azusa canyon west fork I know a few areas that still hold wild trout!

It was stocked last week it's in the reports.

DFG messes up sometimes, I drove 2 hours to my childhood fishing creek cause on the website it said it was stocked, and they lied it wasn't stocked. But there's always some small natives way up the creek

Well I'm trying to contact the trout hatchery that stocks that counties streams and lakes. Would be really cool to do some fly fishing in that area cause it's 45 minutes from my house. Hopefully it's true.

You'd do better fishing the creeks going into silverwood lake if your in the area. It's been stocked weekly for three months straight.

I've seen a youtube vid from a few years back with a dude who hiked up 2.5 hours to get to some native trout. The long drought is what is keeping me from making the hike.

Let me know if you decide to go, I live nearby.

How do you get to those creeks going into silverwood?

The main creek is in Miller cyn/pilot rock off of hwy 138. Hike and fish all the way down to the lake. I believe it's about a mile and a half to two mile stretch.

I'll be up there next week during the full moon chucking this...

Nice!

I have had good luck fishing a little area right at the beginning of the lake before you actually enter the park. I will be going out there next weekend to try my luck again.
