I finally had some spare time to try something I've always been intrigued with.... taxidermy. A few years ago I purchased a colony of Dermestid beetles and started doing European skulls. Then I began doing some antler mounts on placks. In the last few months I've been mentored by a great local taxidermist and have mounted a caribou and two mule deer for friends. One of the deer was a buck I shot 13 years ago... I have a new found respect for quality taxidermy and those who make a living at it. I'm working on a mule deer right now and then I'm going to attempt a life size black bear I shot a few years ago... Ed F

Thanks guys. I have an artist/taxidermist looking over my shoulder teaching me the ropes and fixing everything I screw up. I'm doing more and more without assistance. I put this one together yesterday.... a buddys 30" archery buck. I'll do the finish work next week... Ed F
