Many of us have donated to the annual Junior hunts at San Jacinto (or Wister for that matter) whether it be a direct donation of food or merchandise for prizes or a buck or two dropped into the donation box at the check station. Due to a new state procedure any donations for this season's junior hunt will require the donator to supply DFW with a list of what they want to donate by December 15th. If you are of a mind to donate any food or prizes you need to supply the DFW with a list of what you want to donate by that date. Due to this policy the donation box at the check station is no longer there. I spoke to Tom at SJ and he said that Bass Pro was working on something for a raffle to generate some money and then Bass Pro will donate the money for the junior hunt via the new procedure. (more on that when I get the info). This applies to all State refuges and wildlife areas that have Junior Hunts.
